dsc02610This fellow, spotted by Charlotte, has an interesting mix of the modern and the classic. The suit says Amsterdam or Copenhagen businessman, while the cap, backpack and hybrid bicycle say American college student. Someone get this man a vintage Raleigh three-speed and some baskets, quick!

I especially like the shirt collar turned down over the jacket. Although how those white trousers have stayed so clean, I would love to know. Spotted in kapooosha’s Flickr photostream and used with permission.

He rode his bike to work! What he’s thinking: “My commute was a lot more fun than all these poor suckers who drove.” Spotted in Deerfield, Massachusetts by plastereddragon. More work by this photographer here.

L’EROICA” is [an Italian] period cyclotouristic rally held mainly on gravel roads, organized since 1997. It is a special “race” from every point of view. It proposes surroundings and scenes from the “heroic” times of cycling: dust or mud, no organized service, vintage refreshments, wonderful and demanding roads, great ability to adapt and to suffer.

We search for the authentic roots of the awesome popularity of that cycling world made by the giants of the roads, which created so much literary legends.

See a post about L’Eroica at EcoVelo, too.

This fellow evokes thoughts of cooler weather.

The last of the best images (of gents, anyway) from Sellwood’s gallery of vintage cycling posters.

This is such a great example of how to look good on a bike, I don’t even care that it’s blurry.

British textile company Dashing Tweeds has a mission to re-tweed the world:

Dashing Tweeds is Britain’s latest tweed textile company. Opening up a contemporary arena for a classic quality fabric, Dashing Tweeds has created a range of tweeds for the 21st century, designed by photographer Guy Hills and weaver Kirsty McDougall.

Among their line of tailored outfits is the Cycle Suit, pictured here, which contains reflective micro-fibers for added safety when riding at night. Methinks these are not for the faint of budget, but they sure look fine.
